The Best Spicy Margarita Recipe (Easy, Refreshing & Delicious) (2024)

If you are looking for a Spicy Margarita recipe you are in the right place. Out of all of the margarita variations, the spicy Margarita is by far my favorite.

This Spicy Margarita recipe is the perfect co*cktail to cool you down while still spicing up your summer. It is a summer favorite at my home because we love anything spicy in the Harvey household.

This Summer Margarita will add a little heat to your hot summer days and make any gathering more exciting. It’s sure to be a hit with everyone, whether you are throwing a backyard barbecue or just having a few friends over.

What You’ll Need for Your Spicy Margarita

Summer co*cktails are all about refreshing and bold flavors that help beat the heat. And if you’re looking to spice things up, there’s nothing better than a mouthwatering spicy margarita.

To make this co*cktail, you’ll need a few essential ingredients, such as:

1. Tequila – Choose a high-quality tequila that you enjoy sipping on its own.

2. Fresh lime juice – Fresh lime juice is essential to create the perfect balance of tangy and sweet flavors.

3. Agave nectar – Agave nectar adds a natural sweetness to the co*cktail without overpowering the other flavors.

4. Margarita Spices – You’ll need a blend of spices to add that much-needed kick to your margarita. Cayenne pepper, chili powder, or jalapeno peppers are some great options.

5. Ice – A lot of ice! This co*cktail is best served chilled, so be sure to have plenty of ice cubes on hand and my favorite is the nugget ice maker because it’s perfect for co*cktails.

By gathering these ingredients, you’ll be ready to create a mouthwatering and refreshing co*cktail that’s perfect for hot summer days.

The key to the Spicy Margarita’s heat is the crisp, fresh, and spicy jalapeños, which are muddled in before adding the tequila and additional ingredients.

Simply add two jalapeño coins, with the seeds removed and voila you now have a spicy co*cktail, and if you love heat add a third jalapeño coin, or fourth.

The Perfect Rim

When it comes to summer co*cktails, a well-decorated rim can make all the difference in taking your drink to the next level.

For my spicy margarita, I suggest a salt and chili powder rim by Craft Spice Blends Tequila Lime Seasoning that will perfectly complement the bold flavors of the co*cktail.

To create the perfect rim, start by rubbing a lime wedge around the edge of your glass. Then, mix together a combination of coarse sea salt and chili powder on a plate.

Dip the rim of the glass into the mixture, making sure to get an even coating all the way around.

Not only does a decorated rim add an eye-catching element to your drink, but it also enhances the overall experience by offering an extra pop of flavor with every sip.

Trust me, your guests will be impressed with your attention to detail and the unique twist you put on this classic summer beverage.

The Perfect Blend

It’s all about the blend.

Start by filling a co*cktail shaker with ice and adding two ounces of your favorite tequila, one ounce of lime juice, and half an ounce of agave syrup.

To give it that kick of spice, add a few slices of jalapeño or a dash of hot sauce.

Then, it’s time to shake it up. Make sure to shake vigorously to ensure the ingredients are well-combined and chilled.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also experiment with different blends. For a sweeter variation, try adding fresh pineapple or mango juice. Or, for a more savory twist, add a pinch of black pepper or cumin.

Whatever blend you choose, don’t forget to taste test along the way. After all, the best way to ensure a perfect margarita is by tailoring it to your personal preferences.

So go ahead and mix up a batch of your favorite spicy margaritas this Summer. With the perfect blend, they’re sure to be a hit at any gathering or just as a refreshing drink at home.

Garnish and Serve

After creating the perfect spicy margarita, it’s time to garnish and serve it up. Adding the finishing touches can make all the difference in making your drink look as good as it tastes.

For garnish, I suggest adding a slice of lime and a sprig of fresh cilantro to add a pop of color and freshness to your margarita. You could also add a sprinkle of Tajin seasoning for extra flavor and spice.

When serving, be sure to use a glass that’s appropriate for margaritas. A salt-rimmed glass would also complement the flavors of this spicy margarita.

For a final touch, I suggest serving your margarita with a side of spicy chips or salsa to really complete the spicy theme of your drink.

Now it’s time to sit back, relax and enjoy your mouthwatering spicy margarita. Cheers!

This spicy co*cktail is just what you need to spice up your summer!
